oreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought net worth of ₹3,085.51 crore worth of Indian shares on June 15, 2023, as per provisional data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
FIIs bought a net of ₹2,955.89 crore worth of shares in the cash segment, while they bought a net of ₹129.62 crore worth of shares in the futures and options (F&O) segment.
The buying by FIIs came despite the Sensex closing down 311 points at 54,359, while the Nifty closed down 90 points at 18,650.
The top five stocks bought by FIIs on June 15 were:
- Infosys (₹939.75 crore)
- TCS (₹758.79 crore)
- HDFC Bank (₹570.75 crore)
- ICICI Bank (₹432.35 crore)
- Reliance Industries (₹370.45 crore)
The top five stocks sold by FIIs on June 15 were:
- ONGC (₹1,061.47 crore)
- SBI (₹655.07 crore)
- State Bank of India (₹579.36 crore)
- Hindustan Unilever (₹484.31 crore)
- Bharti Airtel (₹435.54 crore)
The overall sentiment in the market was negative, as investors remained cautious ahead of the RBI monetary policy meeting next week. However, the buying by FIIs provided some relief to the market.
