SHREE CEMENT EAST PVT LTD COMMENCES TRIAL PRODUCTION OF NEW UNIT IN WEST BENGAL

Shree Cement East Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Shree Cement Limited, has commenced trial production of its new cement grinding unit in Purulia, West Bengal. The unit has a capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and is the company’s first greenfield cement plant in West Bengal.

The plant is located in an industrial area in Purulia district and is spread over an area of 100 acres. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and has been designed to meet the highest environmental standards.

The trial production of the unit commenced on June 29, 2023 and is expected to be completed by July 31, 2023. Commercial production of the unit is expected to commence in August 2023.

The commissioning of the new unit is a major milestone for Shree Cement East Pvt Ltd and will help to boost the company’s presence in the eastern region of India. The unit is expected to create employment opportunities for over 1,000 people and will also boost the economic development of the region.
