New Delhi, December 13, 2023: Vikas Ecotech Limited is proud to announce having achieved the final grant of the very first Patent in the name of the Company for the Technology developed by Vikas Ecotech team on “A process for the smart conjugated polymer nanocomposites for corrosion protection in saline environment” The Patent No.480897 has been granted on 12.12.2023 under section 43, in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Patents Act 1970, Government of India.
The patent describes a novel method to encapsulate nano particles of calcium carbonate in conjugated copolymer matrix made from 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene and aniline synthesized in a specific doping medium. These nanocomposites when blended with bisphenol polyester epoxy in a specific ratio give excellent corrosion inhibition response. Nanocomposite coatings formulations have advantages over conventional paint formulations or coatings that no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are released when these nanocomposites are used. Conventional coatings don’t give full protection if pin holes or scratches are developed on the surface. Intelligent coatings based on the nanocomposites of conjugated copolymers encapsulated with nano calcium carbonate will provide an effective and trustworthy solution to corrosion problem in saline environment.
